Grosse Pointe North Varsity won their first game defeating Sterling Hieghts Stevenson in 10 innings 10-9.
North scored in the top of the 10th with a lead off double off the centerfield fence by sophmore Brenna Marsin. Marsin took third on a wild pitch and scored on a ground out by Junior Rachel Liagre. Liagre scored three runs and had three rbis. Senior Rebecca Alway was 2 for 3 with a home run, and junior shortstop Evelyn Zacharias had 3 hits and 2 runs scored. Junior Kayla Kettler had two hits and two rbis.
Stevenson was lead by Senior Fran Madonna. She had 2 home runs and 4 rbis.
